The Makerspace Project Group at Dongshin University is now accepting applications on a rolling basis for the “2026 Prototype Production Support Program,” which provides support from idea development to mass production and commercialization.
On June 15, the Makerspace Project Group at Dongshin University announced the recruitment of participants for the “2026 Prototype Production Support Program (M-2·M-3),” which helps turn creative ideas into actual products and leads them to successful startups and commercialization.
This program was established to support prospective entrepreneurs and companies who possess excellent ideas but face difficulties due to a lack of technology, funding, or production infrastructure. It aims to systematically support the entire process from idea refinement, prototype production, product advancement, connection to mass production, to commercialization consulting, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local startup ecosystem.
The program operates in two main areas: ▲ “M-2 Startup-Linked Prototype Production” and ▲ “M-3 Mass Production-Linked Prototype Production Support.”
The “M-2 Startup-Linked Prototype Production” program supports the creation of basic prototypes that help participants refine early-stage business ideas and verify their market potential. Participants can strengthen their production capabilities and realize their ideas through product design support, professional consulting, and training on how to use makerspace equipment.
The “M-3 Mass Production-Linked Prototype Production Support” program provides working mock-up production, product advancement, support for mass production and productization, as well as commercialization consulting, all of which are necessary at the product commercialization stage. In particular, technical mentoring and design support from experts in various fields will help participants enhance product completeness and secure market competitiveness.
The scale of support is also notable. The M-2 program offers up to 2 million won, while the M-3 program provides up to 5 million won for prototype production and up to 9.9 million won for mass production and productization support. Participants are required to cover 20% of the total project cost.
The program is open to anyone interested in prototype production and product development, including the general public, prospective entrepreneurs, early-stage startups, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Applications will be accepted at any time until December, and applicants can download, complete, and submit the application form through the Dongshin University Makerspace website.
Dongshin University Makerspace Project Group Leader Lee Donghui stated, “Professional production support and linkage to commercialization are essential for creative ideas to be realized as actual products,” adding, “I hope this program serves as a stepping stone for discovering outstanding local ideas and developing them into innovative products.”
